Helmet Standards

RASDEG will start to ask riders to check their helmets in 2017.
So if you’re going to invest in a new helmet, ensure its standard rating is appropriate.
We will be asking people over the coming year to check their helmets at events.

Bridle Numbers

Bridle numbers are now required at ALL RASDEG events. Full details available in the May newsletter.

***CANCELLED*** Members Competition & ***RELOCATED*** AGM

Hello RASDEG members,

It will be no surprise that the Member’s competition on Sunday has had to be cancelled due to the ongoing wet weather.

We hope you and your horses and properties are all bearing up.  At least the grass is growing.

The AGM scheduled for Sunday will go ahead at 10am at the Hoya Garden Centre, 546 Redland Bay Rd, Alexandra Hills.

There is plenty of room there and coffee will be on RASDEG.

A short general meeting will be held after the AGM to determine if we can reschedule the event.

*We hope to see as many members there as possible.

RASDEG NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!

Dear Members of the Equestrian Community

As you may be aware, there are some real challenges with our current arrangement at the Pony Club grounds. The Redland City Council has purchased land in Heinemann Road, Mt Cotton for a sports facility and invited RASDEG to make a submission for the inclusion of a Redlands Equestrian Facility at this location.

The RASDEG committee has put a huge amount of work into this submission to provide a facility for you, our members, where we can run events at a facility consistent with the required standards in the EQ Statewide Facilities Plan and run our Club free of our current constraints at the Pony Club grounds.

Redland City Council has now released the Draft Plan for this precinct. The plan states … equestrian activities have not been accommodated in the Master Plan.

Needless to say, we are very disappointed, BUT this is only a Draft Plan and this is just the beginning ! There is still much we can do to have an Equestrian Facility included.

HOWEVER - We cannot be complacent! We need your involvement NOW!
